TIME CHANGES EVERYTHING (1/?)


“Jack” Toshiko called out from her work station, “I’m getting rift actively just outside Cardiff. It’s strange I’ve never seen anything like it” Toshiko told Jack as he was walk out of his office towards her.

“Why?” Jack asked

“Well look that the line on the screen it’s jumping all over the place and changing shape” She said

“Right thanks Tosh, I’ll take Owen and Gwen and will check it out. You and Ianto stay here and monitor it let me know if anything changes.” Jack had ordered

It was a wet and rainy night in Cardiff the black SUV pulled up down a quite street where Tosh had picked up the rift actively a few minutes early.

The rain was pelting the window of the SUV when Owen started to moan
“Well there doesn’t look like much rift activity here can’t we just go back Jack? I don‘t really want to get wet?”

Gwen looked back at Owen who was sitting in the back and rolled her eyes “A bit of rain never hurt anybody Owen” she said with a cheeky smile which soon turned into wonderment
“What the hell is that?.”

Both Jack and Owen looked round to see what Gwen was looking at.

It was a bright blue and green light that was coming from something on the ground.

Jack, Owen, and Gwen got out of the SUV to take a closer look.

Owen picked up the glowing thing which Gwen was little worried about.

“Jack do you know what this is?” he said waving it about

“No and I think you should be more careful with it” Jack said Just as he heard Owen say “oops”

“Oops Owen Oops what have you done?” Jack shouted

“Erm guys I hate to interrupted” Gwen said with a worried tone to her voice “ But the rain has stopped and it doesn’t even look like it’s bit raining!……..Oh and another thing it’s DAYLIGHT!”

The guys looked around “oh my God”

“And where is the SUV” Jack cried

“What the hell is going on Jack” asked Gwen hoping Jack would give her the answer but the look on his face didn’t fell her with confidents

“I think it might bit this thing” Owen said still holding the object that didn’t seem to be glowing anyone.
“There is a button on the side, I kind of pressed it.” He paused he didn’t like the look on Jack face he continued “When I pressed it, it changed from day to night”

“No” Jack said “it’s taken us out of the year 2008”

“Then what year are we in and how the hell are we going to get back” shouted Owen

“hey don’t shout at me you were the one pressing buttons” Jack waited looking round thinking

“I think it’s some keen of time machine. Maybe that’s what Tosh was picking up she did say the line was jumping about. Maybe she was detecting this thing and it moving from time to time and it should on her screen.”

Gwen had stopped listening to the too guys arguing.

She saw a young lad in the street looked like he was about 15 years old. She’d never seen him before but he looked familiar, there was a women standing outside her front door watching the boy maybe it‘s his mother Gwen thought.

As Gwen walked toward him a car came speeding around the corner and as the boy step out into the road his mother run toward him and shouted “look out” pushing the boy out the away. The car hit the women she fell to the ground, the car sped of and the guy driving didn’t even look back. Gwen knew the women was died. She looked towards the boy and he just was staring at his mother with the look of horror on his face.

“Gwen” shouted Owen “I think I know how to get us back.” Gwen turned towards Owen she didn’t like the sound of he thinks he can get us back.

“Hurry up”

Gwen made her way back to the too guys

“Wait we can’t just leave him the boy just seen his mother die”

“Gwen there is nothing we can do we should even be here my sorry” Jack told her

“Please Jack we can wait with the lad until the ambulance or police arrive please” tears rolling down here cheeks.

“Look we don’t have time Gwen I think this is …” before Owen could finish the sentence the think stated to glow so he pressed the button.

“Are we back” Owen said

“We can’t be……..It was night and raining when we got here! and I still can’t see the SUV” Jack said looking around “Tosh can you hear me?” he called into his eye piece. “Ianto” he got nothing.
“I don’t think it worked Owen let me have a look”

Gwen was getting very tied of those too she just wanted to be back home. She kept thinking about that poor boy if only Jack had let her say with him.

Then she saw the lad again the same boy walking along the road and his mother at the door oh my god she thought Owen hadn’t got us back home he just taken us back to the same point in time. But how come she didn’t see herself and another Jack or Owen maybe it’s the machine she thought cancelled them out. What ever that thing is it has taken her to that same point in time for a reason she was going to make thing right.

Then that car come speeding down the street the boy was stepping out into the road. His mother run towards the boy who had just step into the road. That was it Gwen thought I can save the boys mother “ look out” Gwen cried pulling the boy out the away the women stop short of the car shouting at the driver as he drove pasted. “bloody idiot”

“Are you ok?” Gwen asked
“Yes Thank you, you saved his life” The women replied “Right lets get you in side, thanks again”

“It was nothing I saved your life too” she smiled

“GWEN NO” Jack cried out turning around realising what Gwen had done. But it was to late.

“I’ve got it” Owen said

Then it was night……..

“We are back and look it‘s stopped raining” Said Owen with a smile on his face “Thank god“.

Jack face was like thunder

“I was only trying to help” Gwen cried

“We shouldn’t have been there ” Jack gave her a stern look “I’ll deal with you later Gwen. But first I need to get this thing to the Hub Tosh can check it out. I need to find out what it is and where we went too. And god I need some coffee”

“Do you think we should find out who the lad and his mother was” Gwen asked Jack but he ignored her. If they did go back in time then she just messed with it he thought to himself.

“There you lot are!” shouted Tosh “I’ve been trying to call you for the last 5 hours I got no answer I was getting worried”

“Tosh we only gone for an hour” Owen said laughing “what you worrying about”

“5 hours”

“Ok you too, Tosh we are back now so you can stop worrying” Jack smiled are her.
“Ianto can you make me some of that great coffee” Jack shouted out into the hub waiting to hear those welsh tones.

When Tosh said something that made Jack’s heart sink

“Who is Ianto?”

Owen laugh “Tosh you and Ianto are not very good a playing games and I know you. You think we were away for 5 hours and you and Ianto have made and plan to play a trick on us, it’s not really you Tosh” Owen walked of laughing toward the medical bay.

“What is he talking about” Tosh asked with a puzzed look on her face.

“You are playing aren’t you Tosh” Jack’s voiced sounded worried “Where is Ianto, Ianto Jones who makes the coffee and clean up our mess”

“I have no idea who Ianto Jones is” she typed his name into her computer “Ianto Jones has never worked for torchwood look his not on our system”
Owen walked up from the medical bay to take a look at what Tosh was saying. He was beginning to think she wasn’t joking anymore.
Jack turn to Gwen who had the look of horror on her face.
“what the hell have you done?” Jack said to her.
